Meet The Founder

I am Gibsy Lino, LCSW, CASAC-II, SIFI, and the founder of Graceful Therapy, LCSW, PLLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive experience providing psychotherapy and clinical interventions to address stress-related disorders, trauma, and challenges associated with life transitions. I earned my Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Stella and Charles Guttman Community College, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Lehman College. I completed my Master’s in Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, where I focused on clinical practice with individuals, families, and groups. I am licensed as an LCSW in the Tristate area (NY, NJ, CT), Virginia, and Florida, where I provide Telehealth services.

My Clinical Experience

Over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of settings with children, adolescents, and adults, including correctional settings, outpatient mental health clinics, residential programs, and victim services. I have extensive experience supporting individuals impacted by trauma, substance use, and major life challenges. My work has included helping survivors of violence, people navigating the justice system, adolescents in high-stress environments, and families coping with complex circumstances.

In addition to my therapy work, I supervise MSW interns and provide clinical supervision for LMSWs working toward licensure, helping to shape the next generation of social workers. In addition to my clinical work, I serve on the Board of Advisors for Heaven’s Horizons, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and advancing trauma-informed community initiatives.

These experiences have allowed me to develop a flexible, evidence-based, and compassionate approach to care. One that centers on meeting each client where they are; while guiding them toward growth and healing.

I was born and raised in Honduras and I am proud of my Garifuna heritage. Being bilingual in English and Spanish allows me to serve a broader community and ensure that language is never a barrier to care. My cultural identity and lived experiences shape the way I show up as a therapist. I understand the complexities of carrying multiple identities, and I bring that awareness into every session. My approach combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate, client-centered style, creating a space where you feel both understood and empowered to grow.

If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey. Together, we can create the space for you to reclaim your story and build the life you want

My Philosophy

I believe that healing begins with being truly seen, heard, and supported without judgment. My practice has a special focus on supporting parentified children: adults who, at a young age, had to take on caregiving roles long before they were ready. Taking on adult responsibilities as a child often comes at the expense of one’s own needs, leaving behind invisible wounds. These early experiences often leave lasting imprints on self-worth, boundaries, and relationships. In therapy, we’ll work together to recognize these patterns, release the burdens you were never meant to carry, and create healthier ways of caring for yourself and others.

At the same time, my services are not limited to this group. I also support individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, and cultural identity concerns. No matter what brings you to therapy, my approach remains the same: compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping you build balance, freedom, and peace in a way that honors your authentic self.
